For this mobile design, I wanted to portray a look and feel that retained most of the content and theme for the website by using a top-down stacking approach.
My goal for this design was to create a more refined and classy look for the original website. I wanted to cater to the needs of an older audience while also taking into account the sports and social media aspects of the original website.
This poster was designed so that an individual could associate feelings of hope and curiosity with the event “Writing 4 Hope”. In doing so, I utilized the images of doves to signify emotions of hope and peace. In addition, I used semiotics to help illustrate the overall message of the poster, and to further engage a more educated audience.
In completing this assignment, I learned that the English alphabet is a reflection of what we are accustomed to seeing in our daily lives. I was reminded of the fact that the English alphabet consists of characters that are not only aesthetically pleasing, but simple and common. I believe that in utilizing simple and common expressions to create the English alphabet, the idea was to reflect the shapes and objects that we have grown accustomed to in our daily lives. Thus, in doing so, I believe this simplifies communication among people by means of linguistics.
